Our mission is to increase the GDP of the internet, and we have a staggering amount of work ahead. That means you have an unprecedented opportunity to put the global economy within everyone's reach while doing the most important work of your career. About the team Sail Core builds Stripe's frontend platform—the data layer, navigation, observability, and developer tooling that 50+ product teams use to ship web applications, with the Dashboard being the largest. We are responsible for enabling a stellar developer experience for frontend engineers at Stripe. We're hiring a deeply technical product manager to own the platform strategy, drive cross-company modernization initiatives, and set the standard for frontend excellence at Stripe. What you'll do How should a platform team decide what to build when 50 teams depend on you and each one thinks their request is the most urgent? When do you invest in long-term architectural health versus shipping the migration that unblocks next quarter's goal? How do you make 9,000 files at initialization become a fast, traceable, joyful developer experience—without breaking production for millions of merchants along the way? Responsibilities Own the product strategy and roadmap for Stripe's frontend platform Drive the largest frontend modernization initiative at Stripe while holding the line on architectural quality Redefine frontend development with agentic tooling Define and track key metrics such as latency, build times, and reliability SLOs to make difficult trade-off decisions Be the product voice in deeply technical decisions such as API surface design, framework deprecation sequencing, extraction boundaries, and migration tooling Who you are You think in systems, not features. You go deep on architecture, you don't delegate to engineering. If you're ever unsure about a communication, don't click any links—visit anthropic.com/careers directly for confirmed position openings. How we're different We believe that the highest-impact AI research will be big science. At Anthropic we work as a single cohesive team on just a few large-scale research efforts. And we value impact — advancing our long-term goals of steerable, trustworthy AI — rather than work on smaller and more specific puzzles. We view AI research as an empirical science, which has as much in common with physics and biology as with traditional efforts in computer science. We're an extremely collaborative group, and we host frequent research discussions to ensure that we are pursuing the highest-impact work at any given time. As such, we greatly value communication skills. The easiest way to understand our research directions is to read our recent research. This research continues many of the directions our team worked on prior to Anthropic, including: GPT-3, Circuit-Based Interpretability, Multimodal Neurons, Scaling Laws, AI & Compute, Concrete Problems in AI Safety, and Learning from Human Preferences. Come work with us! Anthropic is a public benefit corporation headquartered in San Francisco. We offer competitive compensation and benefits, optional equity donation matching, generous vacation and parental leave, flexible working hours, and a lovely office space in which to collaborate with colleagues. Whether you are building our products, supporting our customers, growing our community, or shaping our story, you will help define what comes next. About the Role The Next.js team builds the open source framework that powers millions of applications and shapes how developers build for the web. Our work sits at the intersection of React, framework architecture, developer experience, infrastructure, performance, and production reliability. We are looking for an Engineering Team Lead to help build and lead a team working on Next.js. This is a hands-on player/coach role for an experienced engineer who wants to remain close to the code while helping a small team do its best work. You will be an engineer first and a manager second. You will contribute directly to the framework, lead major technical initiatives, review code, debug complex production issues, and help make architectural decisions. You will also support the engineers around you through clear direction, thoughtful feedback, and practical coaching. This is not a traditional people management role. You will spend the majority of your time on technical leadership and engineering execution. You should be comfortable owning difficult parts of the codebase while creating enough context and clarity for others to move quickly. You will work closely with Product, Design, and engineers across Vercel to guide the evolution of Next.js across rendering, caching, routing, build systems, and developer tooling. What You Will Do Build and ship Next.js: Write production code, review pull requests, debug difficult issues, and contribute directly to the framework and its supporting systems. Lead major technical initiatives: Take ownership of complex projects from initial exploration through architecture, implementation, rollout, and production follow-through. Set technical direction: Make sound architectural decisions across rendering, caching, routing, build systems, runtime behavior, and developer tooling. Stay close to real problems: Investigate performance regressions, production failures, and developer pain points. Turn what you learn into practical improvements to the framework. Raise the engineering bar: Establish strong patterns for code quality, testing, performance, reliability, observability, and incremental delivery. Coach through the work: Help engineers grow through pairing, design reviews, code reviews, technical feedback, and shared ownership of challenging problems. Provide focused people leadership: Set clear expectations, give candid feedback, support career development, and help maintain a high-trust and accountable team. Improve team execution: Create lightweight planning and decision-making practices that clarify ownership, reduce unnecessary coordination, and help the team ship consistently. Partner across Vercel: Work with Product, Design, Infrastructure, Developer Experience, and other engineering teams so framework changes integrate cleanly across the Vercel platform. Champion open source: Work in public, engage thoughtfully with contributors, and balance community needs with the team’s product and technical priorities. Help grow the team: Participate in recruiting, assess technical talent, and help new engineers become productive in a complex codebase. About You You have 8+ years of software engineering experience and remain highly effective as a hands-on engineer. You have led engineers or small technical teams, whether as a team lead, tech lead, staff engineer, engineering manager, or founder. You have recent experience writing, reviewing, and shipping production code. You are not looking to step away from engineering execution. You have strong technical judgment across React, framework architecture, or the systems behind a large-scale open source project, including rendering, caching, routing, build tooling, and runtime behavior. You can take a complex technical problem, form a clear point of view, write the critical code, and bring other engineers along with you. You know when to lead from the front and when to create space for someone else to take ownership. You have experience building products or infrastructure for developers and understand the quality, performance, stability, and usability standards this audience expects. You think in systems and can guide a team toward clean abstractions, consistent framework patterns, and technical decisions that hold up at scale. You are comfortable working through ambiguity and solving problems from first principles. You balance speed and quality. You favor incremental delivery and real-world feedback while recognizing when foundational infrastructure requires deeper investment. You communicate clearly in writing, facilitate productive technical debate, and make decisions when a path forward is needed. You use AI tools in your own workflow and have informed opinions about how agentic products should work for developers. Bonus Experience maintaining or contributing to a major open source project, particularly in the React or Next.js ecosystem. Experience with compilers, bundlers, caching, rendering systems, or distributed infrastructure. Experience leading a small, senior engineering team while continuing to make substantial individual contributions. Experience forming a team or technical direction from zero to one. Familiarity with the Next.js codebase, though this is not required. Benefits Competitive compensation package, including equity. Inclusive healthcare package. Learning and growth support, including mentorship and opportunities to attend events that build your network and skills. Flexible time off. Who we are About Stripe Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses. Millions of companies—from the world's largest enterprises to the most ambitious startups—use Stripe to accept payments, grow their revenue, and accelerate new business opportunities. Our mission is to increase the GDP of the internet, and we have a staggering amount of work ahead. That means you have an unprecedented opportunity to put the global economy within everyone's reach while doing the most important work of your career. About the team Web Presence and Platform is organized into two pillars, each of which is grouped into pods that focus on the central tenets of Stripe's public mission. The Presence pillar creates industry-leading designs for Stripe's front door surfaces, educating customers about the power of our platform, sharing Stripe's ideas and expertise with the public, and driving adoption. The Platform pillar builds the internal machinery that powers these surfaces, and is responsible for making our websites fast, stable, and easy to update. Together we design and build stripe.com and other sites that amount to what is, for many, their first impression of Stripe. As such, WPP offers exciting opportunities to have a major impact on Stripe's success. We want to make every pixel count, we want it to be enthralling, and we want to help other Stripes seamlessly benefit from our systematic work. What you'll do As a Design Engineer you will concept, prototype, and build new experiences for our web presence. You'll bring your creativity and expertise to the full range of the Stripe brand, across evergreen pages as well as time-based campaigns. You'll both utilize and contribute to our libraries and design systems, and, when appropriate, work outside established systems to create new digital moments. You'll constantly have in-browser performance in mind, and create abstractions that other designers and engineers consume and build upon. All Design Engineers in WPP have a shared commitment to user experience and craft, but each pod has subtly different focus areas. The Collective pod leverages design, animation, and interaction to drive awareness, educate prospective users, and share Stripe's expertise across public surfaces such as Stripe.com, Link, and others. The Expansion pod brings the same creativity and executional rigor to attracting new prospects and driving conversion, focusing on user journeys, interactive and highly polished tools for users, and building targeted experiences for our global users. As a Design Engineer on the Collective pod, you will help us continue to drive Stripe.com forward, bringing new experiences to life or refining existing content to inform prospective users about the company and its offerings. You will partner closely with designers, other engineers, and partners to execute and evolve the site, bringing technical craft and creativity to the expansive scope of Stripe's web presence. Responsibilities Collaborate with our team's designers and partners to both create new experiences for and maintain Stripe.com Work closely with other design engineers, pairing, mentoring, and continually building a culture of excellence Prototype and implement web animations and interaction-heavy product launch materials Build beautiful, best-in-class end-user experiences to solve complex problems Utilize, maintain, and extend our design systems Integrate our web platform with self-serve authoring and experimentation Who you are We're looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. About Anthropic Anthropic’s mission is to create reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. We want AI to be safe and beneficial for our users and for society as a whole. Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems. About the role Anthropic's Supplier Security & Assurance (SSA) team sits within Security GRC and is responsible for assessing the security of our suppliers: evaluating whether vendors meet our security requirements, capturing the deviations, and giving the business a clear approval decision it can act on. We assess the vendor population a frontier AI lab actually depends on: SaaS and software, human data operations, compute and data center providers, hardware suppliers, and services firms. The program is designed agent-first so that people spend their time on judgment, remediation, and the vendors that matter most. As a member of the Supplier Security & Assurance team you will run supplier security assessments end to end: reviewing evidence, verifying agent-drafted evaluations, determining inherent and residual risk, and driving findings to closure with vendors and business owners. You will also carry the work that extends assurance past the approval, from contractual security terms and secure configuration baselines to continuous monitoring and reassessment, and you will help shape the tooling and requirements the program runs on. Key responsibilities Run supplier security assessments: review agent-prefilled outputs, evaluate vendor controls and evidence, determine residual risk, route to domain reviewers where deeper assessment is warranted Operate supplier issue management and risk treatment: document each finding with a severity, an owner, and a due date, drive remediation with the vendor and the business owner, record risk acceptances, and roll open issues up to the risk register Run continuous monitoring after approval: reopen an assessment on defined triggers (data classification change, new SOC 2 report, new subprocessor, vendor incident), investigate SaaS configuration, data, and use case drift signals, and queue a reassessment where the vendor's scope has moved Improve the program as you run it: identify gaps in coverage, questionnaires, requirements, and tooling that surface during assessments, propose the fix, and carry roadmap items that mature supplier security overall Tune and maintain our Claude-powered assessment platform alongside the team: prompt development, questionnaire and assessment type design, calibration against assessor decisions, and output QA Contribute to KPI and KRI reporting on coverage, cycle time, residual risk, open issues, and reassessments due Minimum qualifications Experience running supplier security assessments end to end at a technology company: scoping the engagement, determining inherent risk, reviewing controls and evidence, documenting residual risk, and driving findings to closure Working knowledge of risk fundamentals (inherent and residual risk, control effectiveness, compensating controls, risk acceptance) and the judgment to apply them when the evidence is incomplete or the answer isn't in a framework Ability to assess a vendor across security domains, and to recognize which findings you can close yourself and which need a security domain specialist Track record of driving risk treatment to closure through influence across teams with competing priorities Experience building or tuning an LLM-backed workflow, agent, or automation in a risk, compliance, or operations context, including tuning prompts and reviewing model output for accuracy Experience building or operating issue management workflows: logging issues with a clear owner and due date, tracking remediation, and escalating when treatment stalls Working technical knowledge of SaaS security configuration (SSO and SCIM, admin scoping, sharing defaults, audit log export) and of standard vendor security contract terms (DPA, incident notification, subprocessors, audit and testing rights) Ability to read a SOC 2 report or penetration test and turn it into findings: identify control exceptions and carve-outs, map complementary user entity controls, and judge what the evidence does and does not prove Preferred qualifications Experience assessing cloud infrastructure, data center, or data-pipeline vendors Experience supporting SOX, SOC 2, or ISO 27001 third party or vendor management controls Experience assessing additional, more specialized vendor cohorts from a security risk perspective: human data operations or data labeling vendors, hardware suppliers, compute providers and neoclouds, and others Experience with post-approval supplier continuous monitoring: configuration, data, and use case drift detection, shadow IT & SaaS detection, vendor incident management, or evidence-based vendor audits/site visits The annual compensation range for this role is listed below. For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role. Annual Salary: $255,000 — $270,000 USD Logistics Minimum education: Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience Required field of study: A field relevant to the role as demonstrated through coursework, training, or professional experience Minimum years of experience: Years of experience required will correlate with the internal job level requirements for the position Location-based hybrid policy: Currently, we expect all staff to be in one of our offices at least 25% of the time. However, some roles may require more time in our offices. Visa sponsorship: We do sponsor visas! However, we aren't able to successfully sponsor visas for every role and every candidate. But if we make you an offer, we will make every reasonable effort to get you a visa, and we retain an immigration lawyer to help with this. We encourage you to apply even if you do not believe you meet every single qualification. Not all strong candidates will meet every single qualification as listed. Research shows that people who identify as being from underrepresented groups are more prone to experiencing imposter syndrome and doubting the strength of their candidacy, so we urge you not to exclude yourself prematurely and to submit an application if you're interested in this work. We think AI systems like the ones we're building have enormous social and ethical implications. We think this makes representation even more important, and we strive to include a range of diverse perspectives on our team. Your safety matters to us. To protect yourself from potential scams, remember that Anthropic recruiters only contact you from @anthropic.com email addresses. In some cases, we may partner with vetted recruiting agencies who will identify themselves as working on behalf of Anthropic. Be cautious of emails from other domains. Legitimate Anthropic recruiters will never ask for money, fees, or banking information before your first day.
