About the Role We are seeking a Commissioning Project Lead to own the commissioning strategy and execution for a large-scale, self-build data center project. Provide clear project and executive reporting on commissioning readiness, staffing, test progress, open risks, issue aging, and turnover status. Drive final system acceptance, turnover readiness, closeout, and lessons learned to support a reliable transition from construction into operations. Qualifications 10+ years of experience in commissioning, construction, engineering, technical program management, or project delivery for mission-critical facilities or similarly complex technical infrastructure. Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary commissioning programs through construction readiness, startup, functional performance testing, integrated systems testing, and turnover. Strong working knowledge of electrical and mechanical commissioning workflows, with the ability to coordinate dependencies across power, cooling, controls, and supporting systems. Experience integrating commissioning activities into construction schedules, lookaheads, energization plans, equipment startup sequences, and turnover milestones. Strong owner, contractor, equipment vendor, and commissioning-agent management skills, including the ability to drive accountability across organizations without direct authority. Experience managing commissioning documentation, test procedures, deficiency resolution, issue tracking, acceptance criteria, and quality governance. Ability to identify commissioning and operational-readiness risks early and translate technical issues into actionable schedule and project decisions. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience communicating technical readiness, risk, and recovery plans to senior project leadership. Owner-side commissioning experience and experience establishing or scaling hybrid owner/vendor commissioning delivery models are strongly preferred. About the Role The Electrical Commissioning Lead owns electrical commissioning planning, readiness, quality coordination, and test execution oversight for the project. About the Role The Power Trading Lead will own commodity hedging strategy and execution across OpenAI’s data center power portfolio. This role will translate large, dynamic electricity and fuel exposures into practical hedging, procurement, and risk-management strategies that protect infrastructure economics while preserving flexibility for growth. This is an individual contributor lead role and does not have direct reports initially. The role will work across power markets, utility tariffs, retail and wholesale supply structures, natural gas and power hedges, renewable and clean firm products, and portfolio risk analytics to support long-term compute growth. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain OpenAI’s commodity hedging strategy across electricity, natural gas, and related energy exposures for data center operations and growth. Quantify portfolio exposure by market, site, load shape, tenor, tariff, and supply structure, and translate that exposure into clear hedging recommendations. Evaluate and execute hedging structures including fixed-price supply, forwards, swaps, options, retail supply products, congestion and basis risk mitigation, and related instruments where appropriate. Partner with utilities, suppliers, traders, banks, consultants, and market counterparties to source competitive products and improve risk-adjusted energy economics. Build decision frameworks for when to hedge, how much to hedge, and which risks to retain across different stages of site development, construction, and operations. Coordinate with finance, treasury, legal, procurement, energy regulatory, sustainability, and site-readiness teams to ensure hedging strategy aligns with broader infrastructure objectives. Monitor wholesale power markets, gas markets, congestion, basis, capacity, ancillary services, tariff developments, and regulatory changes that could affect portfolio cost or reliability. Produce executive-ready analyses on commodity risk, hedge performance, downside scenarios, and recommended actions. Help build repeatable governance, controls, reporting, and playbooks for commodity risk management across the infrastructure portfolio. Qualifications 10+ years in power trading, energy procurement, commodity risk management, utility strategy, energy markets, or related roles. Deep understanding of U.S. wholesale power markets, retail supply structures, utility tariffs, congestion and basis risk, capacity, and natural gas market linkages. Experience designing or executing hedging strategies for large energy consumers, generators, utilities, data centers, or other power-intensive infrastructure. Strong analytical ability to translate complex market exposure into clear commercial, financial, and executive recommendations. Experience working with ISDAs, supply contracts, risk limits, approvals, and internal controls is a plus. Strong cross-functional communication skills and comfort operating in a fast-moving, ambiguous environment. Excellent judgment, documentation, and executive-summary skills. About the Role We are seeking a Strategic Sourcing Manager, Data Center Infrastructure to lead sourcing strategy for the critical infrastructure systems that power Industrial Compute campuses. This role will develop commercial strategies, negotiate strategic supplier agreements, and manage relationships across engineering, construction, manufacturing, and infrastructure partners responsible for delivering mission-critical facilities. You will work closely with Infrastructure Delivery, Capacity Planning, Engineering, Finance, Construction, and external suppliers to ensure Industrial Compute has the capacity, supplier relationships, and commercial frameworks required to support rapid global expansion. The ideal candidate has experience sourcing major infrastructure systems for hyperscale data centers, mission-critical facilities, industrial construction, semiconductor manufacturing, energy infrastructure, or similarly complex capital projects. Key Responsibilities Develop long-term sourcing strategies for data center infrastructure systems supporting Industrial Compute. Lead strategic supplier selection, RFx processes, commercial negotiations, and contract execution for major infrastructure programs. Build and maintain executive relationships with key suppliers, manufacturers, EPC firms, integrators, and infrastructure vendors. Partner with Infrastructure Delivery and Engineering to align sourcing strategies with project schedules, technical requirements, and deployment priorities. About the Role We are seeking an Actuator Gear Design Engineer to lead the development of custom gears and gear stages for advanced robotic systems. You will own actuator development from early architecture and concept generation through prototype validation and system integration, partnering closely with mechanical, electrical, controls, firmware, and reliability teams. You will partner with external suppliers and internal manufacturing to create full gearbox assemblies. This role focuses on the design, integration, and validation of precision gearing, including broader knowledge around motor electromagnetics, transmission types, sensing, structural components, and thermal architectures. You will help drive actuator development across the full engineering lifecycle while establishing scalable design, test, and integration practices for future robotic platforms. This role is based in San Francisco, CA, and requires in-person presence 4 days a week. In this role, you will: Lead the architecture, design, and integration of custom robotic actuator gearing. Define actuator requirements and system-level trade studies around torque density, bandwidth, efficiency, thermal performance, back drivability, inertia, reliability, manufacturability, and cost. Design precision electromechanical assemblies with strong attention to tolerances, alignment, load paths, thermal expansion, sealing, wear, and serviceability. Drive actuator integration into robotic systems, partnering closely with controls, firmware, electrical, and robotics software teams to optimize closed-loop performance. Develop and evaluate architectures with integrated sensing and encoder strategies. Build and validate prototypes through hands-on bring-up, debugging, characterization, and iterative refinement. Develop test methodologies and characterization infrastructure for actuator performance, reliability, durability, and failure analysis. Analyze test data to identify limitations, failure modes, and opportunities for design improvement. Collaborate with manufacturing and supplier partners to transition designs from prototype to scalable production-ready assemblies.
